Peace with God

With the end of the semester quickly approaching, I have felt the rather pressing need to get some reading done. Some of this reading includes Romans: Verse-by-Verse by William R. Newell for Romans class (an excellent book, by the way!) I came across the following on the peace that the believer has through Christ, according to Romans 5:1.
"I hear the words of love,
I gaze upon the blood;
I see the mighty Sacrifice,
And I have peace with God.

'Tis everlasting peace,
Sure as Jehovah's name;
'Tis stable as His stedfast throne,
For evermore the same.

My love is oftimes low,
My joy still ebbs and flows;
But peace with Him remains the same,
No change Jehovah knows.

I change, He changes not,
God's Christ can never die;
His love, not mine, the resting-place,
His truth, not mine, the tie."
