Hi! It is about time that i write something again....:) Right now I am in Fortaleza, so I have a little more time. As of yesterday, I now have an official Brazilian "identity" card (carteira de identidade). Yay! Now the only other documents that I need to get before I leave Brazil is my CPF and my voting título (title). (Don't you wish you lived in Brazil and had to carry around all of these documents?) Anyway, I am glad that I was able to get my identity card...if I would leave Brazil without it (and the other documents that I still have to get) I could run into a lot of trouble when I would return to Brazil.
This is a picture of our dog Muffin. She died a year ago, but I still miss her...she was such a sweet dog!

Ok, I'm not sure how to organize these pictures so the captions are underneath them....I'm still learning how to do this. :-)
Easter weekend!
Hello!
This weekend we are celebrating Easter--the death and ressurrection of Jesus Christ. Although our church held an afternoon service, the real reason for Easter is Christ's ressurrection! Our church is having a sunrise service at 6:00, followed by a potluck breakfast. :-)
It is sad to see how the emphasis of Easter here in Brazil is Christ's death, rather than His ressurrection, due to the grip that Catholocism has on Brazil. The Catholics leave Christ dead and buried! They don't remember that the real reason for Easter is Sunday when we celebrate the ressurrection! How wonderful it is that we know what the whole "story" is--that we have a Risen Savior, and not a dead one!!!
Rejoicing in a Savior Who loved me enough to die for me!!

Something to think about...
Recently, I read a biography of Amy Carmichal, and the following thoughts that she wrote caught my eye:
"Have we any prayer like 'use me, O Lord,' in the Bible?.... [No] I could not find any such prayer.... [I] find every other verb occuring in prayer -- teach me, lead me, bless me, and so on -- but not this verb whch we would naturally expect....
The Captain will use the soldier if he is prepared for use; words of beseeching on the soldier's part are not required...."
I thought this was very interesting because I know I have many times prayed "Lord, use me," but what she said makes sense: if I am prepared and willing to be used of the Lord, I don't need to be asking the Lord to use me...He will use me without my asking, in His own time!

New Beginnings
I finally decided to join the world of tecnology and open a blog! My hope is to use this blog as a way of allowing others read about what is happening in my life.... However, I must admit that I am new to this stuff, so I will be learning as I go! :-)
Tonight, Friday night, our church had children's class once again. It is thrilling to see the turnout that there is for this class! Just recently, in the last two weeks, a 17-year-old boy, Diones, has begun attending! One would think that he would not be interested in being together will all of the "little kids" but no! He is memorizing the verses and doing the daily Bible-reading just like all of the others! Pray for him as he seems to be very interested, however, he has yet to make a decision.
Wow! I just wrote my first blog post! Amazing!
